Willow Cuttings

In the lower portions of the fill slope were seeps that occurred during the winter months and promoted shallow slumping. We used willows in these areas because they are a fast-growing, water-loving species that can quickly stabilize a slope. While willows can be established from seedlings, we used cuttings instead because this stocktype can be installed in ways that add structural support to the slopes or drain water from the soils.
