Large Container Trees

Our long-term objective was to establish trees on the middle to lower portion of the fills to stabilize the slopes, soften the appearance of the large road cut, and to screen the roadcut from the private property below the fill. We choose ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir, and incense cedar because these were the species surrounding these slopes. Large container tree seedlings were used for several reason. A large container stocktype was used for fast growth and to overcome some of the limitations of the site.
